Kalighat Kali Temple
Kalighat Kali Temple is one of the most visited Hindu pilgrimages of the country, situated at Kalighat near Rasbihari Avenue in Kolkata. It is regarded as one of the 52 Shakti Peethams of India, where various parts of Sati's body are believed to have fallen, in the course of Shiva's Rudra Tandava. It also represents the site where the toes of the right foot of Shakti or Sati fell.

The temple in its present form is 200 years old and is decorated with thin, multicolor layers of painted trim. The idol of Goddess Kali is made up of black stone and decorated with gold and silver. The festivals like Navarathri and Kali Puja are major celebrated with great enthusiasm in the temple which attracts thousands of devotees from various parts of the country.
