PUSHKAR- is a flourishing temple town full of religious myths and faiths, the biggest attraction being the temple of Lord Brahma-Lord of Creation; this is the only existing temple dedicated to Lord Brahma. It was constructed in 14th century, and stands on a high plinth with marble steps leading up to it.


Apart from the famous Pushkar Lake and numerous temples in the city of Pushkar, it is also famous for the Pushkar Fair. The fair is held annually and holds much religious significance. Also, organized at the same time, is the largest Camel fair of the world. Pushkar is a much loved tourist destination, many who visit there just fall in love with the place and overstay. Alienated from Ajmer by the Nag Parbat (the snake hill), the city of Pushkar holds mystical allure for the numerous tourists and pilgrims visiting it every year.
Brahma Temple
Brahma Temple - Only Brahma Temple in India
Lying beyond the Nagaparvat and Anasagar Lake in Pushkar is the Brahma temple of Rajasthan, India. A popular pilgrimage of Hindus, the Brahma temple, Pushkar is the only temple of Lord Brahma in India. The legend is that Lord Brahma performed a Yagna here, along with all the gods and goddesses. It is also believed that a lotus fell from the hands of Lord Brahma and fell in the valley of Pushkar. Immediately after, Sarovar Lake appeared miraculously at that place. The Brahma temple is constructed of marble, in southern style. Also, the floor of the temple is decorated with a silver turtle. The temple houses a statue of Lord Brahma in a palthi (seated) position. The temple also comprises of an image of Lord Vishnu, life sized dwarpals (door men) and Garuda pillars (a mythical bird, in gold).

Camel Fair - Largest Fair in India
The largest fair in India, The Pushkar Camel Fair of Rajasthan a unique fair with no other equals. The venue of the fair is Pushkar in Rajasthan. Hoards of people from all of the rural India swarm the fair with their camels and cattle. The Pushkar Camel Fair goes on for a number of days with activities ranging from live stock trading to horse dealing to pilgrimage and religious festival. As far as the religious aspect of the fair is concerned, devotees bathe in the Sarovar Lake. It is believed that taking a dip in the sacred water of the lake will lead to salvation.

Pushkar Lake - Pilgrimage for the Hindus
The legend behind the Pushkar Lake is that the lake originated when some Lotus petals fell on Earth from the hands of Lord Brahma. Surrounding the lake, are 52 ghats, each having water with special powers. The Pushkar Lake also serves as the venue for the renowned Pushkar fair held every year.
Savitri Temple
Savitri Temple - Goddess Savitri
The Savitri temple is dedicated to Goddess Savitri, the wife of Lord Brahma. Positioned on the Ratnagiri Hill, this temple holds a legend to itself. It is believed that once Lord Brahma had to perform a Yagna immediately. However, the performance of the Yagna required the presence of his wife. So, he married a local milkmaid, Gayatri for the purpose. When Brahma's wife, Savitri, found out, she cursed Lord Brahma that he would be worshipped only in Pushkar and only once a year. Then, she immolated herself at the Ratnagiri Hill, where the temple now stands.
Warah Temple
